these look like the perfect appetizers. not too complicated in terms of ingredients needed too. thanks! gives me a reason to go to the fishmonger tomorrow :)
i usually am a minimalist when it comes to seared scallops ... nothing but olive oil and some seasoning. but this bourbon maple idea sounds really delish!
Thank GOD for food Gawker!! I was going through tastespooting withdraws! I stsrted a site to www.daringfood.blogspot.com But Food Gawker looks great! Anyways, these scallops look wonderful..too bad no one in my household like any sorts of seafood!

Those look fastastic! I've got a maple soy marindate I use on salmon and love it, I can only imagine how good it would be on scallops.

Scallops are my absolute favorite seafood.
I am 66 years old and have been eating scallops for perhaps 60 of those years, and I have NEVER before seen photos as beautiful and inviting as yours.
Either you are one hell of a cook, one hell of a photographer, . . . or BOTH!
Thanks for your great post.

I love scallops, and these just look amazing. You're making me really hungry!
Grumpy would love these....and so would I! They look delicious!
wow. i don't eat scallops that often but this marinade looks like it can be adapted to a bunch of other things. yum!
Wonderful recipe and your photo looks delicious!!!
Wow, I never thought about putting bourbon and maple with scallops but it actually sounds really, really good! I'm big into sweet-savory right now :-)
Made your scallop recipe last night.
IMO a little too sweet and they didn't color up like yours. Will try to tweak the recipe.
Thanks!
